Agadir is one of the best places in Morocco to learn to surf. Its wide, sheltered bay, long sandy beaches, and mild year-round climate make it the perfect setting to discover the sport in a relaxed atmosphere. On the central beach, facing the Atlantic Ocean, the waves are consistent and gentle, perfect for learning to stand up on the board and experience your first sensations of surfing.
As soon as you arrive on the beach, the atmosphere is relaxed. Early-morning joggers, families, fishermen, and surfers share the shoreline while the sun illuminates the boardwalk. The session begins with a warm welcome, followed by equipment distribution and a safety briefing. The instructors then explain the basics: stance on the board, balance, reading the waves, and techniques for catching a wave.
The session takes place in an area suitable for beginners, on a sandy bottom with no rocks. Everyone progresses at their own pace, guided step by step by attentive instructors. Before long, participants experience their first glides, falls, and then successes—all in a supportive atmosphere.
Between dips in the water, a break offers a chance to catch your breath while gazing out at the ocean. Some take the opportunity to admire the bay, while others exchange tips and smiles. After the session, everyone is free to extend the experience with a stroll along the coastal road, a coffee by the sea, or some downtime on the beach. Agadir then reveals its warm and welcoming seaside charm.
