Just a few minutes north of Agadir, Tamraght has become one of the most popular surfing villages in the Souss region. Surrounded by arid hills and overlooking the Atlantic, the village offers a peaceful atmosphere, punctuated by the comings and goings of surfers, fishermen, and beach cafés.
The introductory lessons take place on sandy or partially sheltered beaches, which are ideal for learning the basics of surfing with confidence. Banana Point and Devil’s Rock offer consistent waves that are accessible to beginners while also allowing intermediate surfers to work on their technique. In the morning, the ocean is often calmer, providing perfect conditions for your first ride.
The session begins with a welcome on the beach, followed by an introduction to the spot and safety instructions. Participants learn how to position themselves on the board, paddle efficiently, and gradually stand up in the surf. The instructors tailor the exercises to each individual, emphasizing a gentle and personalized approach.
In Tamraght, surfing is also a time for sharing. Between sessions in the water, we share our impressions as we gaze out at the ocean, watch the waves roll in, and enjoy the natural setting. After the session, it’s easy to extend the experience with a cup of mint tea, lunch overlooking the sea, or a stroll through the village, where artisanal shops and terraces with panoramic views line the streets.
